Simplify Your Routine Using Only Multitasking Products
We’ve all been there: staring at a makeup bag that’s overflowing, yet feeling like we have nothing to use. Or, trying to zip a suitcase that is mostly makeup and skincare and a few clothes.
The truth is, you don’t need a long routine or one of each kind of product to look put together. Some of the best looks come from challenging yourself to use less products in creative ways.
If you want to cut down morning chaos, save money, and have one go to routine, you have come to the right place. Here is a full face using multitasking products for a gorgeous look with minimal effort.
The first step is a great base! If you start with a heavy foundation, your look will often need many other products—concealer, setting powder, contour, and bronzer—just to bring life back to your face. Instead, minimize what you need by starting with a skin tint or a tinted SPF. My favorite one is the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. A solid skin tint does the heavy lifting—it replaces your moisturizer, SPF, and foundation. The sheer finish means your skin still looks like skin, just brighter.Tip: If you need a tad extra coverage for a spot or under-eye dark circles, don't grab a heavy concealer. Take a small drop of your skin tint, let it sit on the back of your hand for a minute to thicken slightly, and tap it onto the area with your finger.
Next you need to add definition to your face. If you only buy one multitasking product, make it a cream bronzer, stick, or balm. It is the ultimate shortcut to a sculpted look. My favorite bronzer is SHEGLAM Silk Haze Cream Bronzer
On the face: Sweep it along your cheekbones, hairline, and jawline to add instant warmth and dimension.
On the eyes: Take a fluffy blending brush (or just your finger) and swipe the same bronzer into the crease of your eyes. It defines your eyes and ties your look together because you are placing the same color on to different parts of your face. Next up, let’s add some life back to your skin. Rocking the exact same shade on both your cheeks and lips looks incredibly fresh and effortless. My favorite product for this is Maybelline Cloudtopia Blush. Grab a multi-use tint or even your favorite hydrating satin lipstick. Dot it onto the apples of your cheeks and blend upward toward your temples using your fingers. The warmth of your fingers will melt the product into your skin, creating a soft flush that looks like it's coming from within. Now, pat that same color onto your lips. Instead of swiping it on heavily like a lipstick, blot it on with your finger to create a soft, stained effect.
Finally add the polish to your look. Brows and lashes frame your face and add the finishing touch. You don’t need a separate brow pencil, brow pomade, and clear gel. A single tinted brow gel does it all. Look for a formula with tiny fibers that brush through the hairs, deposit a hint of color, and lock them into place. If you have a few sparse gaps, you can even take an angled eyeliner brush, dab it onto the brow gel spoolie, and use the extra product to draw tiny, hair-like strokes. Finish up with a coat of your favorite mascara, and your five-minute, minimal-effort face is complete. My favorite tinted brow gel is the Maybelline Super Lock Brow Glue Eyebrow Gel and my favoirite mascara is Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Washable Mascara.
The magic here comes down to harmony. Using the same bronzer on your eyes and cheeks ties your features together, so the whole look feels intentional. With this routine, you’ll save time, money, and give your skin a break from heavy layers. It’s beauty made simple, with purpose, and stress-free.
